Is this AI-generated?

Yes. Carhow uses an AI engine trained on years of 4Runner ownership data, service bulletins, recall history, and forum knowledge. Every report is generated specifically for your inputs — no two reports are alike.

Is this a substitute for a mechanic's inspection?

No. Carhow is informational analysis to help you make a better decision and know what to inspect. Always get a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) by a qualified mechanic before buying any used vehicle.

What if the report is wrong about something?

We offer a 7-day refund if the report is materially inaccurate. Email support@carhow.com with your order ID and the specific inaccuracy. Refund decisions are made within 48 hours.

Can I share the report?

Each report is licensed for your personal use. It's personalized and watermarked with your email. You may share it with a mechanic or co-buyer, but may not resell or publish it.

Why only 4Runner?

We're starting with the 5th Gen 4Runner (2010–2024) to do it right — deep research, validated issues, accurate prompt. Tacoma, Wrangler, Bronco, and more are in the queue. Leave your email to get notified.

How long does the report take?

Immediately after payment, report generation begins. Standard reports are typically delivered in 60–90 seconds. Comprehensive reports may take up to 2 minutes.

I entered the wrong information. Can I get a new report?

Comprehensive tier buyers get one free regenerate within 7 days. Standard tier buyers can purchase a second report at the same price. Contact support@carhow.com if you need help.

Does the VIN lookup cost extra?

No. NHTSA recall and VIN decode lookup is included free in both tiers. It uses the NHTSA public API — the same government database mechanics and dealers use.
