These terms govern your use of carhow.app and any report you purchase from it. The service is operated by Carhow. By purchasing a report, you agree to these terms.

1. What Carhow is

Carhow produces informational vehicle reports generated by our proprietary analysis engine from public data sources — including NHTSA recall and VIN records and market listing data — analyzed for the specific vehicle details you provide. Reports are informational analysis to help you make a better decision and know what to inspect. They are not professional mechanical, legal, or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) by a qualified mechanic. Always get one before buying any used vehicle.

2. Your license

Each report is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. You may share it with a mechanic, co-buyer, or family member involved in your purchase decision. You may not resell, republish, or redistribute reports, in whole or in part.

3. Purchases and delivery

Payment is processed by Stripe; Carhow never sees or stores your card details. Your report is generated after payment completes and delivered two ways: by email to the address you provide, and at a private report link. Typical delivery is about 90 seconds; occasionally it takes longer. If your report fails to arrive, email support@carhow.app.

4. Refunds

Carhow offers a 7-day money-back guarantee, subject to the terms of our Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service to generate reports for resale or bulk commercial use
• Attempt to access reports purchased by other customers
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the service
• Misrepresent a Carhow report as a professional inspection or certification

6. Disclaimer of warranties

Reports are provided as-is. The public data sources we rely on — government databases, market listings, and reported owner experiences — may contain errors, omissions, or stale information, and the vehicle in front of you may differ from its paper trail. We work to make reports accurate and useful, but we do not warrant that any report is complete, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Carhow's total liability arising out of your purchase or use of a report is capped at the amount you paid for that report. We are not liable for purchase decisions made based on report content, or for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes apply from the "Last updated" date above and do not retroactively change the terms that applied to a completed purchase.
